About Network for New Music:
Recognized for their dynamic performances of contemporary compositions by both emerging and established composers, Network for New Music continues to be Philadelphia’s “premier new music organization” (Philadelphia Inquirer). Founded in 1984, the flexible ensemble has presented over 700 works and recorded four CDs for Albany Records and on the Innova label. In addition to presenting “tomorrow’s music today,” the Network Ensemble has had educational residencies at the Mann Center (All City Orchestra Summer Academy), the Curtis Institute, University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, Swarthmore College, and since 2007, it has maintained an ongoing residency at Haverford College.

About 40 at 40:
NNM Executive Director Susanna Loewy describes the upcoming season: “Join us in celebrating Network for New Music’s 40th anniversary season! To mark this special occasion, we’re commissioning and performing works by over 40 composers, highlighting diverse new music from Philadelphia and beyond. This milestone includes collaborative projects such as a mosaic work, a dance suite, a folk song suite, and tributes to Richard Wernick. Our Executive and Artistic Directors will open each concert with special flute and guitar commissions. We are especially proud to feature works by Philadelphia native Eliza Brown and MacArthur Fellow Courtney Bryan, as part of Network’s commitment to music as a living language of our time. Experience a season of rich, varied music as we celebrate four decades of innovative artistry.”

This celebration kicks off in October. Be sure to click the button below for more information and to book your MFS discounted member tickets.
