The Musical Fund Society invites you to a free pre-concert reception at the American Philosophical Society on Tuesday, December 5th!

Join us from 6:30pm – 7:15 PM for member mingling, tasty treats and a toast to celebrate the season, followed by a performance at 7:30 PM by the internationally-known duo Kuwento Mizik, presented by the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society.

Tickets for Kuwento Mizik are $3 for MFS members and $25  for non-MFS members; call the PCMS box office at  215-569-8080 to reserve your seats.

The Philadelphia Chamber Music Society presents 2022 MFS Career Advancement Award winner Jean Bernard Cerin and pianist Veena Kulkarni-Rankin fuse classical and world music with storytelling in a transformative concert experience as the duo Kuwento Mizik. Informed by the artists’ Indian, Filipino, American and Haitian heritage, their programs take listeners around the world through music programs that span European and American art songs, Brazilian and Haitian folk music to Indian and Persian love songs.

In Krik! Krak! Songs and Stories from Haiti,  listeners will take a deep dive into the rarely explored world of Haitian art songs, solo classical piano repertoire, arrangements of traditional folk songs for the concert stage and Kuwento Mizik’s original adaptation of the Haitian folktale, Tezen.The Musical Fund Society invites you to a preconcert reception at the American Philosophical Society on Tuesday, December 5th from 6:30pm-7:15pm for member mingling, tasty treats and a toast to commemorate the season. Directly following the reception we will be delighted by the incredible sounds of Kuwento Mizik.
